377 days, Blog #108, Three things I learned today
Ah, Friday. I am so
glad to see you. I suspect we shall
conclude things with some couch time and general relaxing before starting a
busy Saturday.
It has been a good week.
A week full of lessons. Here are
three from today.
1. Snow is very pretty in November. Prettier when it doesn’t stick to the
driveway and only coats the trees and grass.
2. An Alice in Wonderland quote on my office wall makes a surprising impression.
3. Maybe it was the glass of wine I had before sleep. Maybe it was the comfortable warmth in
between flannel sheets as the snow fell outside. My heart clearly speaks to my mind through
dreams in allegory form. I had a dream
about forgiveness and a tearful reunion with a friend with whom a bridge is
still damaged. I’m okay with that…
because clearly the universe doesn’t see fit to cross our paths right now or
maybe ever again. But I know that dream
wasn’t about that friendship. It was
about the fact that I have forgiven theater.
Or more to the point, I’ve forgiven myself for feeling hurt by something
I love so much. Last night I agreed to
be a stage manager and lined up a schedule that hasn’t been so involved with
the stage since 2008. I posted something
about it on Facebook last night and came back this morning to see likes from
theater friends from so many different times and locations of my life. I am blessed to live amongst so many artistic
and creative people. It made me glad.
